District 53 Race Gets A New Entry

Jason Esteves has announced his candidacy for the House seat.

Former public school teacher and attorney Jason Esteves announced his candidacy to represent District 53 in the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday.

Esteves is the third candidate in the race. Incumbent has already announced that she is seeking re-election, and Democrat is in the contest as well.

District 53 was one of several House districts whose boundaries were redrawn during the last General Assembly as a result of the 2010 Census. Jones' district was combined with state Rep. Elly Dobbs', prompting Dobbs to announce she would not seek re-election.
