A collection of work by Daniel Minter, the 201 Art Auction Merit Award Winner, entitled "A Heavy Grace, A Shallow Home," is currently on exhibit at the Hammonds House. The exhibit opens April 24 and runs through June 26.
Minter's images—in painting, and sculpture—call back the beauty of dark skins, plush lips, fullness of sight. Minter's figures are both history and myth and have an uncommon delicacy and a heavy grace.
