Actor, singer and author Tyrese Gibson, whose singing career started in 1995 with a Coca-Cola ad, encourages readers to pursue their dreams despite life's obstacles in "How to Get Out of Your Own Way." From his challenging childhood in Watts to his battle with weight and his recent painful divorce, Tyrese will reveal how he learned to fix what was wrong with his life in order to find peace and fulfillment. Gibson has appeared in such popular films as "Baby Boy" (2001), "2 Fast 2 Furious" (2003) and "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" (2009). Coming out this spring and summer are "Fast and Furious Five" and "Transformers 3."
The event, which will be moderated by Michelle Gipson, publisher of Written Magazine, is free and open to the public, and will include questions from the audience. Books will be available for purchase during the event and a book signing will follow the discussion. Doors will open at 5:30pm.
