Fulton County Continues Celebration of Older Americans Month with Health and Safety Days

Events to focus on injury prevention, safety, fitness and wellness

Fulton County Senior Multipurpose Facilities will continue a month-long observance of Older Americans month with Health and Safety Days.Β  The focus on injury prevention is a part of the 2014 theme of Safe Today. Healthy Tomorrow to encourage older adults to protect themselves and remain active and independent for as long as possible.

Unintentional injuries to older citizens lead to at least 6 million medically treated injuries and more than 30,000 deaths every year. With an emphasis on safety during Older Americans Month, older adults are encouraged to learn about the variety of ways they can avoid the leading causes of injury, like falls.
