Though this event was recognized on this past Tuesday, it is important to know that major and decisive battles took place in president day Southwest Atlanta. Many during the Atlanta Campaign which led to the Battle and Burning of Atlanta, which contributed to the Union’s victory and subsequently the end of Slavery in this country. One of those battles was the Battle of Ezra Church, which has a historical marker @ Mozley Park, 1565 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. This weekend, look around the Cascade area and visit the historical marker at Mozley Park and other historical markers to see what took place in this community.
