1) Kinshasa Symphony:

Where/When: High Museum of Art, Rich Theatre; 1280 Peachtree
Street; Saturday, 8 pm.

The Event: The High Museum welcomes you to the viewing of Radcliffe Bailey Film Series: Kinshasa Symphony here at the High Museum of Art. This film follows Central Africa’s only symphony Orchestra as they prepare to celebrate the Congo’s (formally Zaire) Independence Day anniversary. Β Radcliffe’s lens shows The Orchestre Symphonique Kimbanguiste of Kinshasa preparing and playing in a major open air concert for the celebration to thousands. His film shows the how people of different backgrounds come together through music and play in this urban setting. Please enjoy this film series.

2)Fourth Saturdays:

Where/When:Centennial Olympic Park, 285 Andrew Young International Blvd.; Saturday, Noon -4pm

The Event: Β Its Fourth Saturday Family Fun Days, so bring the family to the park and enjoy the day. The focus this time is All about Sports. Be ready to get into sporting types of events that will be fun for the whole family and enjoy your downtown Atlanta Park. When you finish up, let the kids play around in the water rings or go back and feel your youth and you run around the rings.

3) Happy Hour @WineStyles:

Where/When: WineStyles Cascade, 3752 Cascade Rd., Suite #140; Friday, 6 pm - 9pm.

The event: Your local WineStyles has a treat for you, it’s Sexy in the Burbs where you get off of work and come and relax. So come through WineStyles on Cascade and enjoy a glass of two of a specialty wine or a selection of red or white wines, even a blend while enjoy the atmosphere. The Event: Hammonds House Museum offers for your listening pleasure, the dynamic sound and style of the Luckie Street Band: In Concert Under the Stars. Bring your snacks and beverages and relax while breathing in the versatile sounds in the night air as the band synthesis you ears. 5) Mixing Metaphors:

Where/When: Jimmy Carter Presidential Library & Museum, 441 Freedom Parkway; Friday & Saturday, 9 am – 4:45 pm and Sunday, Noon – 4:45 pm.

The Event: The Presidential Library & Museum presents Mixing Metaphors: The Aesthetic, the Social & the Political in African American Art. From now through the end of July, this Bank of America Collection will be housed here for all Atlanta to see. This collection consists of 90+ paintings, prints,drawings, photographs, sculptures & mixed media pieces. Come to our local Presidential Library Museum honoring the 39th President and Georgia native, Jimmy carter by enjoying this mesmerizing collection of social and political Black art.
