1. National Dance Week: A celebration

Β The Event: Fulton County Art and Culture celebrated the 12th annual National Dance Week this week and it ends with two great dance events. Friday, the Anamica Dance Company will come to West End Mall and wow the crowd with a variety of dance demonstrations that will show the many facets of life in India. On Saturday, a variety of dance companies will come together collectively as an international odyssey and bring to the audience at the Southwest Arts Center, World Dance: Dance and the Drum.

2. Natural Hair: Health and Beauty

College Park, GA Saturday and Sunday, 10 am to 7 pm.
Β The Event: Taliah Waajid of Black Earth Natural Hair Products presents the 2011 World Natural Hair, Health & Beauty Show. In its14th year of existence, the show will bring beauty and education to and about natural hair. There will be over 120 exhibitors and 30 free workshops plus other events at discounted prices to wow you, educate you and stimulate your hair as well as your senses. Your senses will be in for a treat as you take in the aroma of fragrances, taste of great food and drinks as well as the sights and sounds of a variety of entertainment and activities. In years past, surprise guest have included Eryka Badu and Andre 3000, make sure you are in attendance to see who will be 2011's surprise guest star(s). Not only is this event about taking care of your natural hair or starting you on your way to natural hair but itβs about taking care of your natural body through screenings, nutrition, fitness and wellness. Though this is a beauty show, it does not leave out the men because there are barbers and other activities for all ages and gender. 3. NBA Playoffs in the Cascade area:

Β The Event: The L.A. Lakers are going for a second three-peat while the upstart Bulls, OKC Thunder and Atlanta Hawks put their mark on the Playoffs. The Big Four of the Celtics were the 1st team into the second round after sweeping the Knicks. The Best in the West Spurs are on the ropes against those Grizzlies from Memphis. Who else will advance, Itβs Win or Go Home.
4. Fast Five Movie Release
When/ Where: Movies ATL, 3760 Princeton Parkway, Friday β Sunday;
The Event: Fast Five, the fifth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise that began a decade ago. Ex-FBI agent Brian (Paul Walker) along with Mia (Jordana Brewster), Domβs sister andΒ Crew have just brokenΒ Dom (Vin Diesel) out of a long prison sentence and have teamed up with characters from the previous movies, such as Roman (Tyrese), Han (Sung Kang)Β and Tej (Ludacris) and plan to steal 100 million dollars with the Rock, from WWE fame and his band of agents sent to catch them. 5. Hammonds House Museum Presents:Β
Where/When: Bill Lowe Gallery, 1555 Peachtree Street, Saturday 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The Event: The Hammonds House Museum is proud to present their 10th annual Art Auction. Though the gallery is not in the greater Cascade area, but the Hammonds House Museum is right here in the West End district off of Peeples street. Please support the museum in their live and juried auction. This event brings together artists, art patrons and people from creative backgrounds all for the same cause, to benefit the Museumβs exhibition and education programs. There will be a live DJ and culinary skills by top Atlanta restaurants and a specialty bar for your listening and tasting pleasures. It will be an event to remember.
