1) Christmas Parade in Southwest Atlanta:
When/Where: Parade begins Saturday at 11:30 a.m., I-285, 3425 Cascade Rd.
The Event: Christmas time is here in Southwest Atlanta. Celebrate family and community at the 21st annual Southwest Cascade/ Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Merchants Christmas Parade. The parade starts right inside the perimeter at the Kroger near 285 and ends at where parade participants and viewers can enjoy a light lunch. The parade is hosted by our civic and business leaders such as Mayor Kasim Reed; Councilmember’s, C.T. Martin, Keisha Lance Bottoms and H. Lamar Willis; Dr. & Mrs. Walter Young; The Cascade Merchants Association and the Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Merchants Association.

Come on out to our very own Christmas Parade where you will see the co-owners of the JR crickets Lounge located on Cascade along with other local merchants; participation by the various schools that make up the area such as and High Schools. Also the sounds of Atlanta’s own V103 and various other participants.
Please come out and see who represents your area and who does business in your area. Bring your family and friends to enjoy this Christmas Parade that is sure to bring the spirit of the season to all.

2) Winter Book Fair:
When/Where: (SWAC), 915 New Hope Rd., Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Event: Fulton County Arts & Culture’s Southwest Arts Center presents to 2011 Winter Book Fair and So Much More. This year’s event will have over 100 participating authors such as storyteller, , Tina Marie Tiggs, Yusef Poole and a host of others; selected readings for adults and children from different genres and more.
Not only can you meet the authors and browse the books, the Fulton County Fire and Police Department will be on hand to learn more about their valuable resources as well as the resources from the Southwest Branch Library.
In addition, with Christmas, which represents God’s gift to the world, his son the Jesus Christ, coming up it’s time to think of those that are in need. In this spirit Barazzo Bags will be on-site to collect donations to create gift bags for the Atlanta Children’s Shelter. When giving think of your own children and what you would want them to have, new clothes, shoes, books, toys, diapers and gift cards.

3) Free Fridays:
When/Where: Scores Camp Creek, 367 N Desert Dr., Friday, 5:30 p.m. to 4 a.m.
The Event: Every Friday it’s Free Friday at Atlanta’s all new Scores All-star Sports Bar & Video Lounge. Leave the craziness of downtown Atlanta and join the exciting staff of Scores for happy hour from 5:30 till 8. Mix & mingle, network, meet new people, eat and drink. Then from 10 till close jam to the mixing styles of DJ Spoon.
Enjoy food and drink specials all night long, as you watch sports or videos on a flat screen TVs, 3 jumbo screens and a humidor. Come out and enjoy Atlanta’s new hot spot. It’s Going Down at Score on Camp Creek
