Le Diner En Blanc Returns To Atlanta October 7 to Secret Location

Fourth Year For Diner En Blanc Gourmet Food, Friends, Dancing, Napkins Waving and Sparkles

The chic and elegant sold out picnic attended by 2,600 guests clad in all white in a top secret outdoor location, Le Diner En Blanc, translation Dinner in White, returns to Atlanta for the fourth year Saturday, October, 7. The much sought after ticket has a waiting list of thousands already for 2018 at this link atlanta.dinerenblanc.com/register.
The evening is filled with live music, the traditional white napkin wave, spectacular sparkles, dancing and dining with new friends and old. The new local host team is comprised of event planners Helen Mitchell, Lisa Fisher and, Tina DeRenzis."This is an incredible opportunity to showcase our city and beautiful diverse people who make it so special," they said in a statement. Sponsors are Evian and Badoit.
The way it works
Confirmed guests are directed to several drop-off points in locations across the city to board motor coaches for their final destination - the secret location. The instructions are to show up at the pickup point assigned by a designated time. Once there they are escorted to the location by volunteers. Guests are told to bring with them a white card sized table, two white chairs, white table linen and food. If you choose not to bring your own food you can pre-order a catered meal via E-Store and pick it up at the event. Guests are permitted to bring in champagne and wine.
Last year the massive dinner took over the plaza at The Shoppes at Buckhead and the year before that it was on Peachtree Street in front of the Fox Theater and Georgian Terrace hotel. The inaugural year it was held at the Millennium Gateway Museum at Atlantic Station. The attendance continues to grow from nearly 1,000 year one to 1,500 year two and now stands at 2,600 this year. The waiting list continues to grow into the thousands.
The sole purpose of the event is to have a gourmet dinner with friends. It started some 30 years ago in Paris when Frenchman Francois Pasquier invited his friends to an elegant outdoor dinner and asked them to wear all white so that they could find each other. He did not reveal the location until the last minute. Paris now hosts 10,000 guests. Diner En Blanc International began in 2012 in Montreal, Canada, the location of its headquarters. It is now held in more than 70 cities.
