'Loud Silence' wins photography show top honor

Dionne Wimberly, a design and media technology student at Atlanta Technical College, won Best of Show at Student Photography Show.

Dionne Wimberly, a design and media technology student at Atlanta Technical College (ATC), won Best of Show at the third annual ATC Student Photography Show for her piece β€œLoud Silence.” Wimberly received the award at the exhibit’s opening reception Oct. 3 at the Arts Clayton Gallery.

The ATC Student Photography Exhibit is a joint venture between ATC and Arts Clayton. It is held annually during Atlanta Celebrates Photography Month to showcase and celebrate the work of the next generation of photographers.

The competition is open to all ATC students. A review board screens the submissions for inclusion in the show. Then, a juried panel of experts judges each photograph and selects the winners.

The ATC exhibit runs through Oct. 29. The public can view and purchase the students’ photographs by visiting the Arts Clayton Gallery located at 136 S. Main St., Jonesboro, Ga.
