The East Point Police Department has made an arrest in Sunday's murder of longtime officer, Cpl. Crystal Parker, who was found dead in her home with at least one gunshot wound to the head.
Homicide Investigators believe Danielle Parker is responsible for the murder and U.S. Marshals were able to apprehend her on Tuesday afternoon in Fairburn.
According to an 11Alive report, family members state that the suspect and the victim, "dated for about five years but recently went their separate ways. The couple lived together in the Creel Road home where Crystal's body was discovered."
Nathan Strange, a resident of the community, started a fund to help the family with any funeral costs.
East Point Police released information saying Parker worked for the department for six years and was the recipient of Police Officer of the Year in 2012.
A motive for the killing has not been released yet.
