Motivating People to Live on Purpose
When I think of Dallas, I think of the Dallas Cowboys Football team, big oil refineries or I refer to one of the largest cities in the state of Texas, Dallas. Nevertheless, I venture to think that Dallas, GA is becoming iconic and gaining great reputation due to the βout the boxβ leadership of Pastors Anthony and Christina Murray. While the population of Dallas, GA is considered small, whatβs taking place there is big.
Oasis Family Life Church, under the vigorous leadership of The Murrayβs, is a multi-cultural environment setting the bar extremely high and refusing to do church the traditional way. Β The campus is conveniently located on GA 61 equipped with everything a high-performing environment could offer; ample classrooms, gymnasium, cafΓ©, eclectic sanctuary and warm friendly parishioners.

Being on the cusp of a movement spiritually, socially, financially and now academically is the center of their ministry. Oasis is teaching their members, the community and the world to embrace Education Reform. Recently the pastor co-hosted with Mr. Deion Sanders, co-founder of Prime Prep Academy ofΒ Dallas, Texas and the American Federation for Children an Education Forum. The two gentlemen along with other invited guest; politicians, personalities and lay people gathered in the churchβs sanctuary and conducted an informal but informative town-hall meeting. Β The event encouraged the multitude of guest to value education and to reach out to their elected officials on this issue. Deion Sanders, ex-Falcon football player, stated, βWe put more value in a game, than we do education.β He, then jokingly commented about his ex-team loosing the upcoming game. The congregants were inspired to partake in a mass text and more than 500 electronic messages were sent to their state representatives regarding Education Reform. During a Q & A session, the audience also demonstrated their support by holding up tally cards voting on rules and regulations of the education system.Β
As stated earlier, the movement of Oasis Family Life Church is βout the boxβ, as the town-hall meeting ended, Gospel Duo, Mary, Mary began. As always they ministered to the people and gave them food for thought. During their performance, sister, Tina Campbell began to share her testimony of having a hard year, and how she had to revert back to the word of God. She strongly encouraged the people to please study Godβs word. Without any hesitancy she allowed her vulnerability to be displayed then she advised the people, βnot to speak ill of each other and to get back to being what God had created them to be.β The concert was excellent!
