Police Search for Hit-And-Run Driver

Atlanta police are looking for the driver of a vehicle which struck a pedestrian near Howell Park on Monday evening and then fled the area.

WSB-TV reports that a woman was hit by a man driving black Chevrolet Camaro near the intersection of Joseph E. Lowery and Ralph D. Abernathy boulevards in Cascade. Police say the woman is alive and responsive.

A passenger in the Camaro got out and stayed with the injured woman while the driver left the scene. Police talked to the passenger and know the identity of the driver. It is not clear whether or not the man is in custody.
