The odds are staggering. Your chances of winning Mega Millions are 1 in 258,890,850. The chances of winning Powerball are 1 in 175,223,510. By comparison, the odds for the popular Fantasy 5 game (1 in 575,757) look downright encouraging.
Despite those odds, millions of people have played the Georgia Lottery. Since its inception in 1992, ticket sales have exceeded $45 billion of which more than $14.8 billion has been used to fund education programs including the HOPE scholarship program.
