President of Spelman College to Host Conversation with U.S. Rep. James E. Clyburn
President Tatum will host a special conversation with U.S. Congressman of South Carolina and Assistant Democratic Leader James E. Clyburn.

On Friday, Feb. 20, at 1:30 p.m., President Beverly Daniel Tatum will host a special conversation with U.S. Congressman of South Carolina and Assistant Democratic Leader James E. Clyburn. During the conversation, Clyburn will discuss his new book, βBlessed Experiences: Genuinely Southern, Proudly Black,β as well as his political career and journey to become the third-ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives behind House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Minority Whip Steny Hoyer. Previously House Majority Whip from 2007 to 2011, Clyburn currently represents large portions of Columbia and Charleston, South Carolina, as well as several rural areas in between. A book signing will follow.
