Professor Rowland Abiodun, the Johnson C. Newton Professor of Art, the History of Art, and Black Studies at Amherst College, will visit Spelman College, Thursday, Oct 2, at 4 p.m. to discuss his new book, “Yoruba Art and Language: Seeking the African in African Art.” In his latest book, Abiodun, a highly esteemed professor and expert on African art and Yoruba culture, makes plain the connection between the art and language of the Yoruba people.
