Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies to Celebrate Trinity Towers and Lakewood Christian Manor’s New Bus

Trinity Towers and Lakewood Christian Manor are two of eight National Church Residences communities in Atlanta.

Atlanta, GA - National Church Residences is celebrating the arrival of its new wheelchair accessible bus with two ribbon cutting ceremonies on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Towers located at 2611 Springdale Road, SW, Atlanta, GA 30315, and at 4 p.m. at Lakewood Christian Manor located at 2141 Springdale Road, SW, Atlanta, GA 30315.

“Of the many factors that influence aging well, transportation is arguably the one that contributes most to the preservation of a senior’s independence and dignity,” said National Church Residences CEO Mark Ricketts. “Aging in place is a senior’s overwhelming desire. National Church Residences is committed to making that wish possible.”

Trinity Towers and Lakewood Christian Manor are two of eight National Church Residences communities in Atlanta, and provide a home for 490 seniors.

The bus, a 2004 Ford E450, was donated by National Church Residences Bath Road property located in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. The bus seats 12 passengers, has a wheelchair lift, and is handicap assessable.

The new bus will provide residents with safe and reliable transportation to the grocery store, to pick up medication, post office, bank, bowling and social events around town - everyday activities which contribute to their sense of wellness and independence.

To date, donors and residents have raised $11,000 to replace the existing bus. The fundraising campaign is to ensure two buses serve the residents of Trinity Towers and Lakewood Christian Manor. With the donation of the bus, National Church Residences is now over halfway to the fundraising goal. The donation of the reliable and safe bus is a dream turned into reality.
