Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporatedβs East Point Chapter, Tau Epsilon Omega (TEO), participated in the American Cancer Societyβs Relay for Life this past weekend. This annual event raises money across the United States with nearly 1.3 million Relay participants teams last year and over 2,000 events nationwide to raise money that helps the American Cancer Society attack a cancer from every angle. Fundraising from the event supports life-saving cancer research studies, crucial patient care programs, and education and prevention initiatives. Money raised during the South Fulton Relay for Life is dedicated specifically to the South Fulton community. AKA-Team TEO set a target goal of $1,000 but more than doubled that amount raising $2,074 and ending as the second highest raising team for the event. The American Cancer Society is still accepting contributions and contributions can be made at http://bit.ly/AKA-TEOandFriends.
