SW Atlanta Christian Academy's Lady Warriors Lose State Championship in Overtime

St. Francis had just enough to beat out the SACA warriors in overtime.


The Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy Lady Warriors have returned to school today beaten, but with their heads high.  The SACA female basketball team made it all the way to the State Championships in Macon over the weekend, to meet St. Francis.

The title for St. Francis is the first for the private Alpharetta school, and has been described as a stunning victory.  Antoinette Brown scored 22 points to help lead St. Francis to a 62-56 overtime victory.

According to a report on WSB, SW Christian Academy, "held a four-point lead with 15 seconds left in the game, when Williams drew a foul at midcourt. She made a pair of free throws, and Jade Davis had a steal and a layup with seven seconds left to force overtime."

The Macon Telegraph says that, "Southwest Atlanta Christian actually scored the first basket of overtime, but the Knights went on a 10-0 run to seal the game."

The girls suffered a tough loss, but they fought hard all season.  Congrats for having such a good season and plan to see you on top next year!
