The Metro Atlanta Kiwanis Club Supports Terrific Kids!

Terrific Kids is a student-recognition program that promotes character development, self-esteem and perseverance.
“Terrific” is an acronym for Thoughtful, Enthusiastic, Respectful, Responsible, Inclusive, Friendly, Inquisitive and Capable.

Students work with their classroom teacher to establish goals to improve behavior, peer relationships, attendance or schoolwork.  Students build character and develop leadership skills. They attain important life skills known as developmental assets that help them make smart choices.  All students who achieve their goals after a specified time are recognized as Terrific Kids. Recognition includes being pinned as a Terrific Kid; school bucks used to purchase items from the school store, presentation of certificates and other giveaways.

The Metro-Atlanta Kiwanis Club sponsors a Terrific Kids program at the Parklane Elementary School in East Point, Georgia and recently donated $500 to the school’s program.  The Club sponsors a Terrific Kids program because it benefits parents and children.  When students feel good about achieving, parents get more involved in their child’s academic life.
