Weather Alert: Tornado Watch, Flash Flood Watch as Storms Arrive Sunday

Thunderstorms likely in Cascade through Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

A tornado watch is in effect until 3 p.m. Sunday.

Heavy rain is expected to lead to flash flooding across the area through Sunday night. A flash flood watch is in effect for the area until 2 a.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

“Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms will lead to widespread rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches,” according to the NWS statement. “When combined with recently saturated grounds, flooding will be likely for already swollen rivers across the area.

Flooding of low-lying and poorly drained areas is likely, according to the NWS.

Showers and thunderstorms are also expected Monday, with skies clearing by Tuesday.
