Wells Fargo Mural Celebrates African-American Colleges

The mural will be unveiled at 9 am on Friday, April 27, and coincides with the announcment of a new business fund that is designed to create jobs and small businesses in the African-American community.
The fund is getting its start with a $145,000 gift from Wells Fargo to the non-profit Opportunity Funding Corporation. Wells Fargo said that money from the fund, which the is expected to grow with more private gifts, will go to promising new businesses coming out of an annual business plan competition among historically black colleges and universities that the Opportunity Funding Corporation holds every year in Atlanta.

The mural, with images drawn from the Spelman and Morehouse archives and the Atlanta History Center, is one of nearly 50 unique history murals installed at Wells Fargo locations across Atlanta.
