Wolf Creek Amphitheater Officially Opens June 4 with Free India Arie Concert
Grammy Award winning artist India Arie will perform a free concert as the new Wolf Creek Amphitheater kicks off its inaugural season.
Residents of Fulton County will christen the newly-built Wolf Creek Amphitheater on June 4 with a free summer music festival. Β Β
District 7 Commissioner William βBillβ Edwards and the Fulton County Board of Commissioners recently announced that four-time Grammy Award winning artist India Arie is the featured artist for the free inaugural concert that will kick off an abbreviated summer season for the venue.
The impressive, $6 million dollar facility, which can accommodateΒ 5,400 patrons, gave away free concert tickets to Fulton County residents in an effort to promote the grand opening as well as say thank you to the South Fulton community for their commitment to the arts.

Originally scheduled to run as late as June 3, the free tickets "" after only three days. Β A steady stream of Fulton County arts patrons picked up two tickets each from theΒ Sandy Springs Library and Southwest Arts Center throughout the week.
Michael Simanga, Interim Director of Fulton County Arts and Culture, called this the last of the free concert series that began several years ago when the venue was simply a field of grass.

"This free concert is Fulton County's gift to the community for their support," Simanga said. "This vision began over eight years ago with a blank field and now, there is nothing like it on this side of town."
Facility Director Mose James is excited about the completion of the building and renovation. Β Acknowledging a few delays during construction, James is proud of the and all of its vast amenities. Β
Standing in Ovation Plaza, with it's striking sculpture as a centerpiece that welcomes concert goers, James and Commissioner Edwards know the venue will attract well-known talent, just as it has in the past. Β
On the day of the concert, doors will open to the public at 5:00 p.m. and the concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. Β Food, beverages, blankets, seat cushions, alcoholic beverages and coolers (size 48 quarts and smaller), are permitted. Β Concessions will also be sold at the venue .
