Looking for a Environmental Scientist / Geologist (Entry-Level to Mid-Level)

Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated Environmental Scientist for environmental investigation and remediation projects in the SE. This position includes a mix of fieldwork with some data entry office responsibilities (depending on aptitude and experience), including soil/groundwater/surface water sampling, data analysis, and technical reporting. Position may also entail assisting our senior drill staff with direct push and auger drilling as well as subsurface remediation. This is an entry level position with plenty of room to grow in this industry.
Responsibilities:
- Perform soil, groundwater, surface water, and air sampling at UST/HRSA/RCRA sites
- Assist with “hands-on” site remediation including system installation, excavation, chemical oxidation, etc.
- Assist with Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments
- Drilling assistance with environmental and geotechnical projects
- Responsible for detailed note taking in the field along with completion and required forms and daily time tracking
- Maintain field equipment and ensure safety compliance
- Prepare/assist with technical reports and documentation
- Prepare aerial and site maps using ACAD, GIS, or other conventional software platforms
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field
- Entry level position. 1-2 years’ experience preferred (internships accepted)
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to perform physical fieldwork and work outdoors
Preferred:
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER (or ability to obtain)
- Experience with environmental sampling
- Familiarity with GIS, ArcGIS, or AutoCAD/CADD a plus
Work Environment:
- Mostly field work and some office work
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Physically demanding tasks including lifting (50+ lbs.), bending, and climbing
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel and work extended hours when needed
- Detail-oriented and safety-focused
