18,000 Forsyth Students Impacted By $100,000 In Grants

The Forsyth County Schools system was excited to surprise 13 schools with $100,000 in Forsyth County Education Foundation grants.

CUMMING, GA — The Forsyth County Schools system was excited to surprise 13 schools with $100,000 in Forsyth County Education Foundation grants, provided by Beaver Toyota, Feb. 14. These grants will impact close to 18,000 students.

The Forsyth County Education Foundation received a total of $247,991 in grant requests from our schools this spring. The school system will accept donations from individuals and businesses who would like to fund a portion or all of our remaining school requests, contact Hannah Samples at hsamples@forsyth.k12.ga.us. After all, the school points out on their website, St. Patrick's Day is around the corner, so why not bring some luck of the Irish to FC students and teachers.

Brookwood ES received $8,699 for STEM Outdoor Learning Environment

Cumming ES received $4,329.91 for A Robotics Team for Cumming ES

Johns Creek ES received $3,028.50 for Young Minds Little Robots

Matt ES received $5,286.35 for Experiment, Fail, Learn, Repeat

Midway ES received $5,780 for Virtual Reality for Global Learners

Whitlow ES received $4,164 for Exploring Alternative Energy and Sustainability in the School Garden

The total amount that went to six elementary schools was $31,287.76.

ACE (Gateway) received $5,000 for Insight

DeSana MS & Denmark HS received $10,712.24 for The SEAD Initiative

North Forsyth HS received $10,500 for North Synergy Social and Emotional Learning

South Forsyth HS received $12,500 for SOFO Chill

Vickery Creek MS received $15,000 for Social and Emotional Learning Through 7 Habits

West Forsyth HS received $15,000 for Adopting Habits of Health in the High School

The total amount that went to seven middle and high schools was $68,712.24.

The total amount that went to 13 Schools was $100,000.
