2 Killed, 1 Injured In Cumming Crash

The wreck between two commercial vehicles happened Monday afternoon at the intersection of Atlanta Highway and Castleberry Road.

CUMMING, GA — Two people were killed and a third was injured Monday when two commercial vehicles crashed in Cumming.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened shortly after 2 p.m. at the intersection of Atlanta Highway and Castleberry Road, near the entrance to Fowler Park. The wreck caused the intersection to be shut down during rush hour Monday and traffic on the busy highway had to be rerouted.

The sheriff's office had not released the names of the victims as of Tuesday morning, saying they were first notifying their families and the companies they worked for. The injured person was airlifted from the scene and was being treated at a local hospital, authorities said.
