77-Year-Old Hit, Killed By Truck In Cumming
The pickup truck was being driven by a 19-year-old from Gainesville, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office says.

CUMMING, GA — A 77-year-old man from Cumming was killed Thursday night when he was hit by a truck being driven by a teen driver.
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash, which happened around 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of Canton Highway and Post Road. According to the sheriff's office, Michael Paul Carbonara, of Cumming, was walking across the intersection at Canton Highway when he was hit by a pickup truck traveling west.
The Ford F-150's driver was Rigney Gilbert "Gill" Hoffman, 19, of Gainesville, the sheriff's office said.

Carbonara died at the scene, according to sheriff's office spokesman Cpl. Peter Sabella.
The sheriff's office said drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been factors. The office's traffic specialist unit is working to determine an exact cause of the deadly crash.
