Here are the top five stories in Cumming today:

  1. Early voting for the Jun. 21 General Primary Runoff began yesterday, Jun. 13, and runs through Friday, Jun. 17. Voting hours are 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day at four different locations: Forsyth County Voter Registration and Elections Office, Hampton Park Library, Sharon Springs Park Community Building, and Midway Park Community Building.   2. The average price of gas in Forsyth County is currently $4.54 per gallon, officially the highest in Georgia. Average gas prices across the state have also increased by 21 cents since last week — and up by $1.57 from this time last year.   3. Developers have broken ground on Alta North, a 310-unit apartment community. The joint venture between Wood Partners and CP Capital US will be located at the intersection of Ga. Highway 400 and Settingdown Circle. Community amenities at Alta North will include a swimming pool with a tanning ledge, a pet park and spa, and rentable co-working office spaces. (REBusinessOnline)

Calling all artists: the Cumming Arts Center/Sawnee Association of the Arts (CAC/SAA) is inviting local artists 18 years and up to enter its "Hot August Nights" show. 2D and 3D artwork, as well as photography, will be accepted for the August showcase at the Brandon Heard House.
