Atlanta Bread Company Opens At The Collection, With New Concept

CUMMING, GA — Forsyth County residents stopping for a bite while shopping at The Collection have a new dining option starting Monday.

Atlanta Bread, the fast-casual cafe chain known for its sandwiches, soups and salads, opened a new location at the outdoor shopping center on Monday.

The location is the first of its kind for the Atlanta-based chain.

It offers a modern, rustic design, a beer and wine bar, indoor and outdoor seating, a conference room with presentation-ready technology and an art wall featuring artwork from students at nearby South Forsyth High School.

Cumming residents Dean and Kelly Ditmar own and operate the new location. The husband and wife team also recently took ownership of three other Atlanta Bread locations — a second Cumming location and restaurants in Dunwoody and Roswell.

The Ditmars say they were drawn to Atlanta Bread because of its reputation for offering fresh, quality food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

"We’ve been living in Cumming for 12 years — raising our kids and putting down roots. We are invested in this community," Dean Ditmar said in a news release. "We are excited to usher in a new generation of the brand, and feel that Cumming is the ideal place to introduce this fresh, modern look and feel, while still offering the quality food that residents know and love."

The conference room at the Atlanta Bread at The Collection has room for 10 people.

While the restaurant opens Monday, a grand opening will be held on July 29. During grand opening festivities, there will be face painting, live music, local community nonprofits including No Longer Bound, giveaways, buy-one-get-one free breakfast sandwiches until 9 a.m., raffles and more.

In addition, there will be a formal ribbon cutting with the Chamber of Commerce on July 26, to officially welcome this new Atlanta Bread to the city of Cumming.

Hours of operation at the new restaurant are 6 a.m.-9 p.m., Monday-Wednesday, 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday. It can be reached at (678) 845-5881 ext.102.
