Kevin Husum, of Panama City, has been missing since falling from a pontoon boat on August 6.

CUMMING, GA β€” Georgia rangers discovered a body during a shore sweep of Lake Lanier on Sunday, and believe it is that of a Florida man who has been missing since falling into the lake earlier this month.

The body found Sunday was sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab for identification, according to a state Department of Natural Resources spokesman.

Forsyth County firefighters helped with the recovery of the body.

The driver of that boat has been charged with boating under the influence. Kenneth Toller, of Cumming, was arrested and charged after the incident.

DNR investigators are continuing to look into exactly what happened to cause Husum to fall into the lake and not resurface. That investigation is expected to take several weeks.

Meanwhile, the search continues for another man who went missing on the lake Friday. Authorities have not identified the missing boater, who is believed to have gone missing in the channel between Aqualand Marina and Port Royale Marina.

"Rangers are continuing to search that area using sonar, but the 125-foot-deep water and the heavy timber along the bottom are making the search very difficult," the DNR said in a news release. "The search efforts are primarily being conducted in the evenings and overnight due to heavy boat traffic during the day."
