CRT Contacts - Wear Them ONLY While Sleeping!
Information on CRT Contacts (Corneal Refractive Therapy). These are contacts you wear while you sleep, and need no correction during the day.
You are about to go to bed, so you put in your contact lenses, and then go to sleep. In the morning you wake up, take out your contacts, and for the rest of the day you now have perfect vision (~24 Hours).
Although it seems like such a far fetched and imaginary concept - this is something that is REAL! And it is called CRT (Corneal Refractive Therapy) Contacts, or "Ortho-K." These types of contacts have actually been around for a while now, but not very many people know about them - including myself (until recently).

When I started working with Dr. Sivan, she introduced me to CRT contacts as she is certified to dispense them. I was instantly intrigued, and got an exam the following week with her to get fitted into them. The results were amazing! Within a week I was able to take out my contact lenses in the morning when I woke up and see 20/15 the entire day with no vision correction. That's better than perfect vision!

These contacts are a lot different than the ones you are either used to wearing or have seen others wear. Basically, while you are sleeping the contact reshapes the outer layer of your eye, called the cornea. It is a painless process, and is not permanent. For example, if down the road if you wanted to invest in Lasik, then after 3 days your vision will be completely back to how it was. There are NO permanent side effects.
My personal experiences with these CRT contacts have been very positive. My prescription does include an astigmatism with high correction for distance, and the CRT contact can handle far worse prescriptions than mine. But because these contacts requires additional measurements, the doctor must be CRT certified.
