Come out to downtown Cumming on July 4th for the Annual Thomas-Mashburn Steam Engine Parade! This decades-long tradition features dozens of antique steam engines, as well as floats, antique cars, emergency services vehicles, local businesses, churches, veterans groups, kids’ groups, and more! Parade begins at 10 a.m., but you should arrive early for a good viewing spot. Route is from Forsyth Central High School to the Cumming Fairgrounds, along Tribble Gap/Castleberry Road (note: steam engines enter the parade at the Bank of America across from City Hall). Be sure to stay hydrated and bring ear protection, especially for little ones as the antique steam engines are extremely loud.
