Fall is the best time to plant trees, shrubs, perennials, and certain vegetables.* Come to the Hall County Master Gardeners Fall Garden Expo and find a tremendous variety of beautiful healthy plants and garden-related products. Find azaleas, hydrangeas, camellias, Japanese maple and redbud trees, evergreens, native plants, bulbs, plus garden art, locally produced artisanal garden-related items such as honey, jams, soaps, wreaths, wood products, and houseplants. Visit a record number of vendors for this autumn event -- 53 vendors have reserved 62 booths.
Admission is $2 per person and kids 12 and under are admitted free. Friday, Sept 25 hours are 8:30 AM to 5 PM; Saturday, Sept 26 hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
We offer a "purchase and hold" service so attendees can make several tours around the arena. Consider bringing your own cart or wagon to avoid a wait for our loaners. This is a rain or shine event under the covered arena. Plenty of Handicapped parking too. Food trucks will be on site.
No pets are allowed. Only service animals that meet ADA requirements will be allowed entry.
The Ask A Master Gardener table will be staffed throughout the event by experts to answer your gardening questions. Be sure to stay for the educational sessions offered at 11 AM and 1 PM each day. (Watch our website for details.) Listen for Door Prize announcements every hour.
Watch for signs and banners on Calvary Church Rd. indicating a new traffic pattern for Friday and Saturday. All traffic will turn onto New Harvest Rd. to enter the Arena grounds. Watch for volunteers directing you. This change is to eliminate backups on Calvary Church Rd. We appreciate your cooperation!
* Why is Fall the best time to plant? The heat of summer is over, and with it the stress on your new plants. Fall plantings will have time to establish themselves and their root systems before winter sets in. Then you will be set to enjoy your garden additions when they burst forth in spring. Vegetables such as kale, collard greens, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, mustard greens, and spinach thrive in the cooler weather. The leafy vegetables can be planted in the ground or in containers.
