Chamber Hosts Trip to Germany

The European excursion will be in December and is loaded with tours, presentations and more.

The  announced Wednesday that it's hosting a 'Discovery Excursion to Germany' at the end of the year.

"We are pleased to host our upcoming visit to Germany," said James McCoy, president of the chamber. "Our community is home to over 60 international companies – including such German firms as Siemens, Hansgrohe, Dieffenbacher, and Trox. We have hosted exclusive trade visits to Germany in the past. However the upcoming trip is unique because it is open to anyone seeking to discover Germany’s history and culture."

The nine-day trip takes place December 7-15, 2012, and will provide travelers an opportunity to explore Germany’s history, culture, and shopping markets. It's also a chance to learn about the country's economic development agencies.

The package costs $2,824 per person, a standard double rate, including three nights in the traditional Alpine Village of Oberammergau and two nights in the heart of the Black Forest. Tours and shopping expeditions in such historic cities as Munich, Nuremberg, Wurzburg, and Rothenburg are included.

Presentations from leaders of the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s International Trade Office in Europe and the German American Chamber of Commerce are also part of the package.

Each traveler receives round-trip international airfare from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, hotel accommodations, meals, deluxe bus tours, fluent English-speaking tour guides and entrance fees for attractions. Space is limited and rates for the trip vary according to double, single, and triple occupancies.

An information session about the trip will take place on April 24 at 6 p.m. at the German manufacturer Hansgrohe located at 1490 Bluegrass Lakes Parkway in south Forsyth County.
