Cherry Street Beer Fest Raises $20K For Forsyth Humane Society
The Cherry Street Beer Fest and Family Festival last month raised $20,000 for the Humane Society of Forsyth County.

CUMMING, GA — There may not be a better reason to enjoy a cold glass of beer on a warm spring day, except if it helps raise money for homeless pets. That's just what the fourth annual Cherry Street Beer Fest and Family Festival did.
The April 13 event drew hundreds of people to Vickery Village for a fun afternoon of live music, tasty beers and provided the Humane Society of Forsyth County, GA, a no-kill Shelter, the opportunity to bring pets for adoption while increasing awareness of their service.
The event, which benefited humane society, had a successful pet adoption as well. Further, a donation of $20,000 was made possible thanks to the generosity of the festival participants, and sponsors, including Tito's Handmade Vodka, Troncalli Subaru, Cherry Street Brewing and Cherry Street Brewing Restaurant at Vickery Village - Home of Rick Tanner's

“We care for the well-being of pets that are in shelters waiting for their forever home,” Theo Hall, Georgia area manager for Tito’s Handmade Vodka, said in the release. “When Samantha, Taproom Manager, presented us with the opportunity to be a part of this event, it was easy to say yes.”
Not only did Tito’s participate in the event, they committed to matching the amount raised during the event.
“Being able to present a check for $20,000 ($10,000 raised at the event, $10,000 match from Tito’s Handmade Vodka) has brought great joy to us all,” Alisa Tanner, Cherry Street Director of Hospitality, said in the release. “This was truly a family affair – not just the Tanner family but our extended family as well. Everyone played a key role in making this festival such a success.”
Joining the event as the presenting sponsor was Troncalli Subaru.
“We were honored and happy to be part of this great event,” Michael Barlow, Troncalli Subaru General Manager, said. “Being part of a festival that brings so many folks together for a great cause is a win-win for us all.”
When presented with the check, Amy Comstock, Humane Society of Forsyth County’s Board of Directors’ Fundraising Director, her big smile gave way to expressions of gratitude.
“This is such a wonderful donation that will have a tremendous impact on our work to take care of the animals at the shelter,” Comstock said in the release. “Working with Nick, Alisa, Samantha, Rick (Tanner) and all the awesome staff and volunteers was truly rewarding.”
