Here are the top three stories today in Cumming:
- Governor Brian Kemp has appointed Greg Allen to the Georgia Criminal Case Data Exchange Board. Allen has served as the Forsyth County Clerk of Superior, State and Juvenile Courts since being elected in 2008. Voted as Clerk of the Year for the State of Georgia in 2018, Allen is the board chairman of the Georgia Superior Court Clerks Cooperative Authority and the current elected president of the Superior Court Clerks Association of Georgia. - Ready to "Eat Mor Chikin?" Well, Chick-fil-A at Lanier Crossing, 653 Atlanta Rd., is hosting a family night today from 6-8 p.m. with a buy one get one on chicken sandwiches. (My Forsyth Magazine)
- Forsyth County Sheriff Ron Freeman was recently elected secretary/treasurer to the Executive Board of Georgia Sheriff's Association for the 2022-23 term. During the summer conference of the Georgia Sheriff's Association, Sheriff Freeman was elected by his peers, over 100 Georgia Sheriff's, to serve on the Executive Board for the Georgia Sheriff's Association. Sheriff Freeman previously served as the chaplain for the Georgia Sheriff's Association and was the chairman of the Training and Standards Committee. (Forsyth County Sheriff's Office)
