- 'Tis the season. The 19th Annual Christmas Arts & Crafts Festival at Lanier Tech will be held this weekend, Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Come get a photo in Santa's sleigh or visit The Elf Corner, where only kids can shop. Food vendors and local charities and organizations will also be in attendance at this family-friendly event. (Patch)
- Ready to quit smoking? Starting Nov. 8, Northside Hospital Cancer Institute will host a six-week course called Built to Quit. This virtual program teaches participants the dangers of smoking, the benefits of stopping, and mechanisms to cope with urges. The course is led by an American Lung Association-certified facilitator and includes behavioral and respiratory therapists who will provide support and guidance throughout the six weeks. - The Ridge – Great Steaks and Seafood off Turner Road scored a 41/U on a recent restaurant inspection after a number of health and food violations were reported. The staff and food manager will be retrained on Georgia food codes and the restaurant will be reinspected at a later date. The restaurant scored a 90/A on its last inspection.
