County Plans to Adopt Budget on Thursday

The budget for FY 2015 is north of $200 million and should be adopted during the Forsyth Board of Commissioners' next meeting in Cumming.

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners plan to adopt a budget for the next fiscal year during their Thursday evening meeting, the county website reports.

The budget, which can be examined in full below, contains $103,416,811 of general fund expenditures and revenues, a 7.77 percent increase over the previous year’s budget. The county’s Fire Fund is set at $18,564,500, a 6.82 percent increase over the 2014 budget. The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office will get $2,340,328 to replace 56 of their vehicles as part of the capital fund.

The budget also calls for the hiring of several new county positions, including a part time magistrate judge, two new members of the Board of Registrations and Elections, a systems administrator, a building inspector, and other positions.

The total funds for the FY 2015 budget are $243,020,957.

The meeting to adopt the FY 2015 budget will begin at 5 p.m. on Nov. 6 and will be held at the Forsyth County Administration Building at 110 East Main Street in Cumming.
