Here are the top three stories in and around Cumming:

  1. Cumming City Center Market is accepting vendor applications for its Fall event to be held Oct. 22 and its Winter event to be held Nov. 19. The event, hosted by Pieces & Peaches Boutique, features over 100 local businesses with live music, entertainment and kids' activities. (Pieces & Peaches)
  2. Forsyth County teams had a rough go at it in their high school football scrimmages Friday night as Lambert, South Forsyth and East Forsyth all fell short. The Broncos lost to White County 17-14, the War Eagles fell to Shiloh 12-7, and the Lambert Longhorns lost to Walton 36-7 . Forsyth Central however beat Pope 49-7 in its scrimmage last Wednesday, North Forsyth held off Dawson County 24-17 and West Forsyth beat Lanier 30-7. (Forsyth County News)
  3. The housing market in the Atlanta metro area appears to be cooling off, experts say. After prices skyrocketed for months, the median sales price fell by two percent from June to July 2022. Rising interest rates and inflation are identified as the cause of the drop. There was also a 31 percent drop in an annual decline in home sales last month (WSB).
