Cumming College Student Wins Buick Scholarship
The student at the University of Alabama was one of 100 winners of the prestigious scholarship.

A University of Alabama student who calls Cumming home has been selected as a winner of the 2014 Buick Achievers Scholarship Program.
According to Buick, Olivia Pruitt will now receive up to $25,000 in four or five year renewable college scholarships. As a condition for earning the scholarship, Pruitt and all other winners need to be pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Each winner must also have professed a desire to work in the automotive industry or a related field after graduation.
Buick reports that they have awarded over $28 million in scholarships to 3,400 high school seniors and college undergraduates in the four years the program has been active. The GM Foundation provides the funds for the scholarship.
