Cumming Crash Kills Oakwood Man

CUMMING, GA — An Oakwood man died Wednesday in a Cumming car crash on Blue Ridge Overlook at Carlisle Road, Forsyth County authorities said Thursday.

The crash happened around 5:40 p.m., when 29-year-old William Wiggins was driving a 2003 Ford Taurus south on Carlisle and approaching the Blue Ridge intersection, authorities said.

Wiggins did not yield to traffic and pulled out in front of a 1993 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck, authorities said. The truck tried to avoid the accident but was unsuccessful, authorities said.

Wiggins was pronounced dead at a local hospital, authorities said. The status of the Chevrolet driver is unknown.

Impairment and speed were not factors in the crash, authorities said. Forsyth County’s Traffic Specialist Unit is investigating the case.
