Cumming Homeowner Shoots Burglars, Shot in Return
Sheriff's deputies are searching for two suspects, who fled the area in an unknown vehicle.
Forsyth County sheriff’s deputies are combing the area for a pair who they believe shot a homeowner as she interrupted their burglary attempt in Cumming on Monday morning.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, the homeowner discovered the burglar or burglars inside her Magnolia Avenue home at approximately 10:30 a.m. She fired on the burglar or burglars, who returned fire and struck the woman in the stomach. She was able to call 911 as the suspect or suspects fled her home.
Deputies say the suspects are a black male and a black female who left the home in an unknown vehicle. The homeowner was conscious and alert when she was taken to the hospital, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
