Cumming Indian Restaurant Fails Inspection

The restaurant lost points on 15 separate violations, according to its inspection report.

CUMMING, GA — An Indian restaurant in Cumming got a failing score on a recent health inspection.

Mint-Indian Bistro & Bar, at 2340 Atlanta Hwy., scored a 59/U during an inspection last Thursday.

According to the report, inspectors took away points for 15 different violations.

They ranged from employees not properly washing their hands before handling food to the person in charge not knowing about food service rules and regulations.

Food services were not properly cleaned and sanitized, toxic substances were not properly stored and items like utensils, to-go plasticware and napkins were not being stored properly, according to the report.

In light of the failing grade, inspectors will return to the restaurant for a follow-up inspection, likely within the next 10 days.

If problems on this report have not been addressed, the restaurant runs the risk of losing its permit until they are addressed.
