Here are the top five stories in Cumming today:

  1. Florida State University's 2022 recruiting class — including Cumming's own Brett Barfield — landed in Tallahassee on Saturday afternoon. A promising star among the 17 newest Seminoles, Barfield is a left-handed pitcher (LHP) from North Forsyth High School. 2. A Cumming-based special needs nonprofit is seeking the public's help in identifying two men who stole catalytic convertors off company vans. According to a Facebook post from Creative Enterprise Forsyth County, the theft took place on Thursday evening just after 8:00 p.m. Anyone with information on the incident or the identity of the thieves is asked to contact Creative Enterprise or the Cumming Police Department. (WSB Atlanta)
  3. Rock band JACKYL will be headed to the Cumming Music Festival on Jul. 24, just ahead of the 30th anniversary of their debut album. The band also plans to release a 30th-anniversary collection in August with three new songs, including a lead single that is a "damn straight-up rocker" according to frontman Jesse James Dupree.
