Cumming Man Arrested For Sending Lewd Texts To Professor

CUMMING, GA — A Cumming man is under arrest after police say he sent lewd photos of his anatomy to a professor at Lanier Technical College.

Skyler Zane Taylor, 21, is charged with distributing obscene material after police say he used his cellphone to send two inappropriate photographs to the female professor.

According to a police report, the professor, who lives in Gwinnett County, contacted police there in late December, saying a man had sent her two unsolicited text-message photographs of his genitals.

She received the texts on December 22 and on Christmas Day.

Police initially traced the phone number the images, and other texts, were sent from to a "Zane Taylor," but the professor told investigators she didn't recognize anyone by that name.

After uncovering further records, police say they were able to match Taylor's full name to the account.

The professor said she recognized Skyler Taylor as a student who had taken five or six classes from her at Lanier Tehcnical College's campus in Forsyth County.

She said she had felt that he had a crush on her. He would frequently talk with her after class, sent her an unusually high number of emails and would do things like carry her bag to her car without being asked, she said.

He told her she made him feel smart, unlike other professors, and while she was away from school with a medical issue, he sent her multiple emails saying he hoped she would be back, the professor said.

An arrest warrant was filed for Taylor's arrest on January 31.
