Cumming Man Involved in Fatal Wreck

A Cumming motorist was taken to the hospital after he was involved in a wreck which killed another person on Saturday morning, the Associated Press writes.

George Saunders of Cumming was driving a rental truck south on Interstate 85 at approximately 1:30 a.m. when his vehicle was struck head on by a 2001 Mercedes which was driving the wrong way, according to the AP. The driver of the Mercedes, Keith Smith of Suwanee, died in the collision.

Saunders was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, the AP says. His condition is unknown.

The wreck shut down Interstate 85 for approximately four hours.
