Cumming Power Worker Killed in Lumpkin County
The worker was killed by a tree while his crew was working to clear part of a wooded area for power lines.

The Sawnee EMC worker who was killed on the job in Lumpkin County on Wednesday has been identified as a Cumming man, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Brian Johnson, 27, was working with a crew to cut down trees to make room for power lines near Whelchel Road in Dahlonega when he was struck and killed by a tree. Johnson was declared dead at the scene, the AJC says.
A section of nearby Ga. 400 was shut down while investigators combed the scene, according to the AJC.
