Cumming Wants Local Restaurants, Trader Joe's, Red Lobster
Responses to our Facebook post asking what new business you'd like to see also backed live entertainment, Krispy Kreme and Whole Foods.
CUMMING, GA — When it comes to new businesses in the Cumming area, a lot of you are thinking local.
Some familiar names popped up when we asked what business you'd like to see come to town on the Cumming Patch Facebook page. Trader Joe's got a lot of love. Whole Foods and Red Lobster had a bunch of fans, too.
But, more than any single chain store or restaurant, our followers said they'd like to see locally owned restaurants and shops open up nearby.

"I'd like to see our downtown be less jail/courthouse and more resident friendly with bars/restaurants and boutique shops," one reader wrote.
Wrote another: "More boutiques instead of all gov(ernmen)t buildings and jail! Mom and pop restaurants would be great.....anything to give it some character and life!"

The thread's roughly 40 respondents were willing to make an exception or two to that trend, though — particularly for seafood and hot, tasty doughnuts.
Red Lobster and Krispy Kreme topped the list of chain restaurants Cumming residents would like to see.
