Deadline To Register To Vote in Georgia is Tuesday

Here's a look at how you can still register in time to be eligible to vote in the November 8 presidential election.

If you want your voice heard in this year's presidential election, you'd better make sure you're registered to vote by Tuesday.

Tuesday, October 11, is the deadline to register in Georgia in time to be eligible to vote on November 8.

"It has never been easier to register to vote in our state," Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp said in a news release. "For the first time in Georgia, voters can register to vote or update their information online, via text, or by using my office’s smartphone app."

What that means is, if you've waited until the last minute to register, there's still hope.

Georgia citizens can submit an electronic voter registration application using their Georgia driver’s license number or state-issued identification card number on several platforms:

If you're not sure whether you're registered, or need information about where to vote, you can verify your voting information using the Secretary of State's office My Voter Page.

Using just your name, county and date of birth you can check your registration status, poll location, locations for early voting, get a sample ballot and find other voting info.

Absentee voting has already begun and advance in-person voting begins in Georgia on October 17.

Georgia law also requires the polls to be open on Saturday, October 29 in all 159 counties for Georgians to vote in the November contests.
