Debris Slows Rush Hour Traffic on Ga. 400

The debris was around McGinnis Ferry Road in the southbound lanes.

CUMMING, GA β€” Early commuters in and around Cumming got a slower than usual start Tuesday morning, as law enforcement was called to clear debris off of the highway.

At 6:50 a.m., the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office took to social media to announce that officers were on Ga. 400 looking into the junked-up situation.

Reports said large amounts of debris had fallen into the southbound lanes of Ga. 400 near McGinnis Ferry Road. Multiple cars had pulled over the the shoulder because the debris was so bad, the sheriff's office said on Facebook.

Deputies responded and helped clear the highway. By 7:17 a.m., the sheriff's office said the roadway was clear.
